I found an interesting article on someones blog. I will post the link in my next post ( I am out of town using the laptop-saved the blog in my favorites on the desktop). The fellow has worked his way to doing 1000 push ups a day. He reports that he has gained 15 pounds of muscle since he started. The blog describes a progression to getting in shape to do a 1000 push ups a day starting with doing about 200 every other day. As far as my own journey goes -last year I did an average of a little over 165 push ups or chin ups a day. This year I haved been averaging over 220 push ups or chin ups a day. Thing is when I started doing the push ups I felt like 200 a day was an awesome goal. I had thought if I could do 200 a day I would be in incredible shape. Now I am at the point where I feel like I am dogging it if I don't do at least 300 a day. Anything less than 300 feels lazy. I can do 300 in a little less than 15 minutes -so it isnt much of a workout anymore. (usually in sets of 10 -20 reps). right now I am trying to drive my daily average closer and closer to 1000 a day.
