Found an article that recommends push ups for happiness. Heres the link:
Had two days with big numbers of push ups/chins and the shoulders are a little sore. I think it is just regular muscle soreness -but i might take it a little easy today-just in case. Well the weight finally dropped back down again. It has been hard to get back below the 200 pound barrier again. I don't know maybe there is something to that set point theory after all. Nonetheless I am not willing to abandon the idea that it is more about calories eaten versus calories burned than any other factor. I'm over 81,000 push ups and chins-going to push harder for that 100k point (maybe just not so hard today).
